Five Words Most Associated With Beauty Blogs and Channels
Perhaps the MOST used word in any beauty blog. Swatches are so useful. It is probably the reason why I read any beauty blogs and also the driving force of me stumbling onto other blogs (i.e. through google images).
E = Eye, F = Face, N = Nails, O = Outfit, OTD = Of the day. When you see (Letter)+OTD, there will always be an accompanying picture. It is an easy tool to transition into a short blog post or to show off your pretty face/nail/eyes/clothes. Is there such a thing as HOTD aka Hair of the day?
3. Description Words - Cakey, Smooth, Long Lasting, Patchy
Pretty self-explanatory. These words describe eyeshadow, lip products, foundation and other makeup products. I find beauty bloggers and youtubers constantly use cakey (bad), patchy (bad), smooth (good), long lasting (good) as describers. Other words used, buttery, soft, sticky (for lipgloss).. man, this is starting to sound a bit risque.
4. HG aka Holy Grail
Which beauty blogger and youtube guru doesn't talk about their HG aka Holy Grail product? HG is the perfect product. The product functions perfectly and matches every requirement the individual expects. It can refer to anything from eyeliner to foundation. It is subjective to each individual and my HG doesn't mean it is your HG.
Not the paint primer silly! Primer for the eyes and face! Probably first thing I learned from a Youtube guru was what a primer was. Quick! What does UDPP and TFSI stand for?! If you know, you have read many beauty blogs and reviews grasshopper.
